Tyra is hungry!

I love Tyra, but homegirl is really looking for that cash. She is not going away anytime soon. I'm sure there's going to be Tyra magazine within a couple of years. Who knows, maybe we can have the Tyra toothbrush...and the Tyra laptop...and the Tyra bedspread...and the Tyra metrocard holder...shit, I would not hold anything past her now. She says she wants to be like Martha and Oprah, well that must mean she sold her soul to the devil and just wants to sell shit to people. That's how these women work. Wall-E is coming!

Pixar is just too much! They keep making these amazing cartoons and I just can't get enough. Wall-E takes place in a future where humans have left earth and have forgotten about this robot who was used for trash maintenance. He finally ends up out of earth and on an adventure like we have never seen before. Oh, and how cute is this robot!?! Looks like E.T a little bit too.

Mrs. Parker Redeems herself

Finally, Sarah comes out the house looking fit to be in the cast of Sex and the City. She has really let me down over the past couple of weeks, but for some reason today I fell  back in love with her. Maybe it was this outfit she wore to the NYC premiere of her new movie, or maybe it was the article I just read about her in my New York Magazine? Whatever it was, thank God, because now I'm more excited to see the movie...

The Easy Way Out by Stephen McCauley

I just read this book and it took me back to the days of Armistead Maupin. The way Stephen writes is very personal and you almost immediately feel that you are very vividly experiencing something with substance. The Easy Way Out deals with the  very personal issue of control, who has it, how do we use it, who is trying to control us, how can we control other people, but in the end its really about being true to yourself. This book made me see a lot of things about my own life, like what it could have become if I had been doing what people told me to do without questioning. Its a breath of fresh air to get affirmation from a book that is telling me that I should be doing exactly what I'm doing. Thanks for recommending this Cyril.

Central Park Roller Disco

I made my way to Central Park yesterday to relax and have some time to read my book The Easy Way Out (which is very very good). I met up with Xtina in some random part of the park she found and I could not believe my ears. The Central Park Roller Disco was on and popping with some great music. DJ Julio (thats who they kept mentioning) is apparently an awesome DJ and at some point I wished he would DJ my upcoming birthday party. The scene was like something out of a movie. Sitting there in the park reading my book, I noticed all these different people coming together...it was so New York. I sat there for a minute just looking around at everyone trying to take it all in. Trying to think of anything else that would be as cinematic as what I was witnessing. I couldn't, so I went back to my book with a smile.

Finally went over to see the new Indiana Jones flick and my mouth was even open at some parts because I thought it was so horrible. The story fell flat, the dynamic with the characters felt forced and now I feel horrible for ever wanting this movie to come out. They should have stopped at the last movie. I thought maybe because I am a fan I would like it no matter what they did, but in fact I think it was harder for me to watch because I expected so much more. The most exciting thing about this movie was the trailer before for the new Shai movie called Eagle Eye...

Gay Super-hero coming to TV!

Perry Moore, who is one of the Narnia movies producers, wrote a book about the worlds first gay super-hero called HERO. The book was amazing and I ended up reading it in 2 days! At first I heard buzz about this maybe becoming a movie, but now it seems to be more of a fit for TV. Stan Lee (creator of X-men, Iron Man, etc) is backing this project 100 percent and Moore is just thrilled, as am I.

My dad hearts Flavor of love 3!

I got home yesterday to find my dad watching the flavor of love marathon and screaming out "FLAVA FLAVE! Immediately I was hooked. I was watching him watching the show and could not stop laughing. Dominican commentary on this show is hilarious. My dad would say "que cuero!(what a ho!) and I would just laugh for like 5 minutes. Then he was pissed when Flave chose Thing 2 over Black because he thought black was prettier. I'm just amazed at how this show brought us together because usually I try to avoid talking to my dad, but Flave made it happen. Thank you Flave!

The Fall is great eyecandy

I saw this movie last night at the Sunshine on Houston with Cristina. I was immediately charmed by the little girl who stars in the movie alongside Lee Pace. Her name is Catinca Untaru and she's from Romania. Visually, the movie was a treat. This is from Tarsem (the guy that did The Cell), so I knew that the eye candy would be on point. I have to say that as interesting as the story is, I feel they could have gone a little further with the story that Lee Pace is telling the little girl. Having that said, I still would watch the movie over just for the fact that I love that little girl so much...and Lee Pace is hot....and the visuals...OK, I guess I really liked this then. Lol

Doctor Strange is coming!

Sometime last week I posted about how Marvel has announced that they are making a Thor movie and a Captain America movie, BUT this is the best announcement yet...Doctor Strange is getting his own flick too and it's exciting to hear the people currently attached to the project. As of now if you go on IMDB it says that Guillermo del Toro (pan's Labyrinth) might direct with a script by none other than Neil Gaiman (Watchmen, Stardust). Im crossing my fingers already.

Celery BAN

I can't take it anymore. I am officially banning celery. This damn veggie is so disgusting! I hate when I'm eating something and all of a sudden I taste celery that was hidden away somewhere. It just ruins my dish completely. Makes me want to send it back and say, "can I please get this with no fucking celery? Thanks". If you like celery I don't wanna hear about it. YUCK!

I finally got my ass over to the new Mr.Black on Varrick and Vandam and I was so happy to see that it was all about the dancing and the music again. Last time around Mr.Black sold it's soul to the devil and it chelsea-fied everything. They had way too much pop and go go boys, which was so lame. This time around I was dancing as soon as I got there, great crowd, music, bartenders, everything. It's much bigger too. Just watch out when you get there, because security will frisk you like you have a bomb up your butt.

Lucky to be alive

I was walking westbound on Houston Street with my friend Craig when all of a sudden a cab slams right into a car and the whole bumper of the car hit flies off. I was crossing the street when this hapenned and some of the pieces of the car hit touched my feet. Craig then notices that the person driving the cab is unconscious, maybe he had a heart-attack? So his foot was still on the accelerator and the car kept going and made a left, making its way into the opposite lane where traffic was going against him and hitting two more cars, HARD. I was so shocked and lucky that the cab made a left and not a right after hitting the first car, because it would have been a very different story that I would be telling or someone else would be telling right now.
