I have always enjoyed the simplicity of Mooncake Foods. The menu is not too extensive, but everything on it is there for a specific flavor reason. This smoked white fish salad sandwich is not only very fresh tasting (I credit the daikon, pickled carrots, and cilantro for that), but its also full of flavor and it'll become that sandwich that you don't mind getting every time you go to this place. It's the default if you don't find anything else you feel like having on that particular day.
The infamous Limelight in NYC is the stuff legends are made of. Anyone who knows anything about New York knows that for a loooong time this was the place you went if you wanted to party with the cool people. Drugs, hot gay guys, strippers, hot stripper girls that made out with gay guys, freaks, and everything in between was all there. The once celebrity filled mega club is now being converted into a marketplace. Instead of someone dancing in a cage, you can now expect to find someone trying to sell you something. Hmmm. My dad (who used to be a bartender at this venue in the early 90's) is going to FREAK out when he hears this. it's going to be the highlight of my day.
Have you noticed how much I love animation? I wish I could draw, really, but I can't, so I truly appreciate the art form. My latest find is superstar Dean Fraser. He has an awesome blog where he re-creates all types of celebrities and pop culture characters into their very own Springfield version. Yup, the same Springfield as the fabulous Simpson's! I got a real kick out of these, specially the Marvel section.
It's hard to find good snacks hat are healthy and sinfully good. Fruit is always great, chocolate covered pretzels are on the top of my list, but now I have to add one more. Snikiddy's baked fries (cheddar cheese)! I tried them when some guy was giving out free samples at Whole Foods. After I put one in my mouth my next move was to pick up a bag. I ate the whole bag in maybe 10 minutes. I was supposed to save some for my co-workers, but I couldn't. Today I bought another bag and I'm not sharing. These are all mine! haha.
Zoe Saldana was the best dressed in my opinion. Why? Because this event was supposed to be all about these fabulous ball gowns and they all sucked. the best looks came from everyone that instead opted to stand out and be different with dresses that are more form fitting and simple, yet elegant. ELEGANZA EXTRAVAGANZA bitches! Eat this look up! Zoe is wearing Calvin Klein Collection.
Model Chanel Iman is wearing a metallic Michael Kors jump suit. Sparkles! This is retro, but somehow modern. It's like she's Jem for the new millennium.
Model Jessica Stam is so beautiful that anything is going to look great on her. This dress by Rachel Roy appears to be very simple, but put this on someone else and it could have been a disaster. This shows every curve!

Next week will bring us the fabulous new documentary that takes a look at one year in the life of four babies from around the world, from Mongolia to Namibia to San Francisco to Tokyo. The babies are incredibly cute and the study of cultures seem like it will be very interesting. This is definitely a must.

I can't wait to go to Japan so I can finally get my hands on some amazing looking robes like the ones these two gentlemen are sporting. The Sartorialist is having a visual feast in japan right now, I don't know if he will ever be the same. lol
Sometimes you are flipping through magazines, looking at music videos, or walking down the street, and you bump into some sort of Goddess woman who deserves your total attention. I have decided to start a little recurring post for those special women. I will start with the Brazilian girl who is on the cover of Hercules SS10. She is absolutely stunning! Maybe I should start this type of post for the guys as well. There's a lot of eye candy out there.
I brunched at Blue Ribbon Bakery last weekend in celebration of a friends birthday. I have never been to a restaurant that had its own legitimate bakery on the premises. The smell of all the delicious and freshly baked bread was enough to make me want to go into a full carb attack. And I did. As we waited for our food (I got the amazing steak sandwich, which was cooked to perfection) we got some baskets of this now legendary bread. I could not eat fast enough! I was mad that other people were there at one point because I wanted it all for myself. The waiting staff was also incredibly friendly and made us feel like we owned the place. I recommend you go with a big group of friends and reserve the private table downstairs by the bakery. It will change your life.
In this legendary issue, Michelle Obama becomes the only first lady to ever pose for Traveler magazine. The insight she provides on Washington DC, her family, her experiences with the previous first ladies, and on her upbringing is incredible. I had to get the issue, not only because of it's amazing cover, but the article on Michelle is very well written and gives you a sneak peak into someone you thought you already knew everything about.
Ms. Sahara Davenport, from Rupaul's drag race season 2, worked it out for my polaroid camera last night. Cristina and I went to check out Sahara at her weekly gig at therapy Bar and found Sahara doing a show that was full of energy and most of all an homage to all things DIVA.
My official Summer drink is going to be Margaritas this year. I know this already because I have been really getting into tequila lately, but why not share the love and try new things? I saw Mexican Sangria on the Design Sponge blog. Looks like a delicious brakes from my upcoming margaritas...
