I miss Jourdan

As many of you know, Supermodel Jordan Dunn is not walking in any of the shows this season because she is expecting a child. I miss her! Let's take this opportunity to take a look back at some of her best looks...
(From top to bottom: Christian Dior Spring 09, Versace Spring 09, V magazine November 08, Temperley Spring 09, Stella McCartney Spring 09, Moschino Spring 09, Japanese Vogue March 09, Italian Vogue July 08, Italian Vogue cover July 08, I-D Magazine)

Rudy do excuse me for sounding harsh but I do believe Jourdan,as much as I'm a fan and appreciate her work and adore her Cockney accent, got lucky because she happened to be at the right place at the right time as the saying goes.
I remember her first European runway for Alberta Ferretti and she was quite plain and like a wall flower. She didn't creat any waves. Then came all that outcry about not seeing enough black models on the runway and in magazines.Miuccia then defied everyone and put Jourdan on the runway after 8 years of using only white girls for the Prada runway.Miuccia stated she wanted a fresh British black girl and guess who happened to be around? Then Meisel got on the 'blacklash' too and wanted Jourdan which of course eventually led to her being chosen afterwards for just about everything.
What I'm trying to say Ru is that there were dozens of equally stunning girls around at the time like Jaunelle Mckenzie and Mimi Roche but Jourdan got lucky.
I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer and love seeing J on the runway and in magazine editorials but I just think rather than concentrating on one girl or two for all the jobs, the fashion industry should have spread out the enthusiasme and work to other black models who deserved their share of 'being at the right place at the right time'.
Having said all that I shall miss Jourdan too.I wish her allthe happiness in the world with her baby.

im sure she was at the right place at the right time. As were Arelnis, Sessilee, and chanel. They are what the industry is calling the top black models right now. I am sure that there are a bunch of other gils that can do the same job and I actually have seen them in the shows currently. They all look great. But I actually think jourdan said the same thing you are saying in the latest issue of ID magazine. she says" “There are loads of black models working and the idea that there's only a few of us, or four of us, to let in as top models at any one time is just bullshit.”

LOL

so you guys are on the same page.
