I know that we are all supposed to be trying to slim down for the Summer, but once you see this crape cart all that mess will leave your mind. TRIPIE cart opens June 3rd in the Columbus circle area! There's not enough crapes in this city, so this is highly anticipated on my end. Check it out or get left behind! Look for TRIPIE on facebook for regular updates.

Podium from TETU July 2004.

I think the first time I went to Paris was 2004. I picked up this awesome issue of Tetu and found this Podium spread. One of my favorite pictures EVER!

UP hits theaters tomorrow!

Pixar's UP comes out this Friday and I can't wait to watch it in 3D! The story telling from these people is always something that I connect with. Get excited!
**Update 6.12.2009
I think I cried about 3 times during the entire film. It was so warm and sad at times. This showcases really great story telling.

Winona is back?

Hmmm. First Winona plays Spock's mother in the new Star trek movie and now the cover of British Elle? I sense a comeback. Maybe I'll watch Beetlejuice tonight to get ready.

Weekend polaroids!

I was out and about this weekend with my Polaroid and this is some of what I captured.
(Picture with super trendy artist Brian Ermanski and his new work. He usually sells his art on Prince and Elizabeth)
(With Cristina and the Bonobos puppy who was trying to eat my finger.)
(Picture with Manny at the MoMa, amazing city view)
(Leslie and Liz at The Strand Hotel with futuristic looking host)

Punctuation by Stefan Sagmeister

This is now showing at MoMa museum. Sagmeister won a contest where designers were asked to make something that showcased puctuation. This uses political reference to the bill of rights and the section where it discusses the right to own guns. Too long to write on here, but look into it. It's interesting and I had no idea before I saw it at the museum.

Avatar: The last airbender movie

M. Night Shyamalan is making Avatar: The last airbender movie. I really hope he does not f*** this up like he did his last couple of movies. I suggest you go online and watch some episodes of this cartoon. It's funny, has a ton of action, and the animation is top notch.

Some of what I saw at "The model as muse" exhibit at the MET

These are some of the images I thought stood out the most. The show is until August 9th, so you still have time to check it out.

Mario is being shady...

I found some site online that allows graphic designers to come up with whatever they want, stick it on a T-shirt, and sell it online. Pretty cool concept. This "Magic Mushrooms" artwork is from Ian Summers and he's selling it on a site called Threadless. I LOVE IT. I'm a Super Mario Bros. geek, so it's right up my alley.

Porchetta is ORGASMIC!

Finally made my way over to Porchetta after walking past it last week and thinking, "I need to eat some of that yummy pork". I got the pork sandwich and some potatoes that come with some pork crunchy bits on it. I wont even try to describe the joy my mouth felt when I ate that sandwich. IT WAS ON ANOTHER LEVEL. It was a "don't speak or look at me and don't even breathe right now because I don't want you disturbing my moment with this sandwich" kinda moment. IT WAS LIKE SEX! There, I said it. It was like sex, but better because I know I can go back there and relieve the moment. oh. I almost needed a cigarette afterwards. Cristina and I will never be the same again.

The future is near, thanks to Apple

You know how when we were little we thought that the year 2000 would involve some flying cars and aliens? Well, would you settle for computer tablets like in star trek and aliens? LOL
This is a rendering of something that is rumored to be released in the next couple of years. I am feeling it! What do you think?

Geometry wars for Xbox

You like shiny stuff? you like video games? You like sitting at home being lazy and playing with shiny stuff? Well, if you have an Xbox you can get this super cool game called Geometry Wars that will visually entertain you. It's a puzzle game and can be extremely addictive. I warn you now, because I don't want anyone to call in sick to work just cause they are playing this all day.

Alex Asher Daniel show in NYC

The images shown above are of artist Alex Asher Daniel's new exhibit called “Private Comogony". He uses color beautifully. I feel as if he is giving you a peek into some type of intimate moment. Check out the show at the Kate Robinson Fine Art Center. I'm going to try and take a peek tomorrow after work.

Angels & Demons showcases architecture in Rome

Angels & Demons was great and everything, but the main thing it did was make me want to go back to Italy to see all of the amazing architecture. It's crazy how these people got permission to shoot in all these old churches. If you liked the Davinci code then you will love this. It's more of the same, it just goes a little faster because the story is a bit less introductory and more action.

AND they gave you Tom Hanks in a speedo and I didn't even wanna throw up. You go Boy Tom Hanks!

Gianni Scardovi brings pop to comics

Wondering around the city Saturday, trying to get Cristina a cute dress, when we bumped into Mr. Scardovi's postcard. Spiderman in heels, superheroes kissing, and it just gets better and better. this Italian comic geek lives in Bologna and is my pick for best new artist.

Imagelover surfaces

Imagelover combines amazing imagery with very minimal, but to the point text to create a very quick pace environment full of eye candy. It's the only way to keep up with the times.
Check it out...

Chris Pine has arrived

Chris Pine has been in some movies before, but after Star Trek things will never be the same. He is officially a leading man now, so GQ caught up with him and asked him some questions. The new issue has pine looking great and giving away a few details on working with Lindsay Lohan (yeah I know, they did some movie called Just my luck). he's one to watch.

Lucia Arana shoots the fantasy

Lucia Arana is a fashion photographer from Peru and I found some of her pictures online. This one is called "Alice" and I freaking love the metallic blue she is showing off in this picture. I like the fact that all her pictures have some sort of theme and are really clean looking. Check her out...

California has some gay issues

I am very uninterested in the whole Miss California debacle and how she is anti-gay marriage. Don't get me wrong, I do care about gay marriage, but I have a feeling that Mr. Perez Hilton had his own agenda when he asked that very charged question. For me, it's getting more interesting now. Miss California took some very racy pictures some time ago and they just surfaced. Nipple showing and butt is sticking out! Donald Trump decided that this was not enough to take away her crown. I'm sure that upset some of the other people on the pageants committee. Then Miss California announced that she'll be launching a campaign opposing gay marriage with the National Organization for Marriage. Shanna Moakler (who is a former Miss U.S.A and is on the committee) had enough with this mess. Shanna is very outspoken about supporting gay rights and even shot a print ad April 28 slamming Proposition 8, the initiative that bans gay marriage in California. So the drama is that the day after we all find out that Miss California will keep her crown Shanna quits her duties in the pageant committee and states that she does not believe in the pageant anymore and she wants to set an example for her children.

WOW.
Did you get enough yet?
I did. AND how come every year right around the time the Miss U.S.A pageant is about to go down some drama happens? huh?

If Mode bike is Summer ready and fits in your APT

Always wanted a bike, but you live in NYC and you just don't have the space for it. I feel the same way! Here's the answer to all our Summer bike riding prayers. Thank you baby Jesus!

My birthday is coming up. That's all I'm gonna say. You can figure it out.

Moo cards make life easy.

If you have something you need to advertise the best way to do it is to get a business card, right? I am the best example of this. I need a card to hand out to people, so I started asking around and a co-worker told me about Moo cards. They are professionally printed cards that are extremely cheap and have really good quality. I'm about to order some for blog purposes and I'll make sure I post what they look like as soon as I get them. Go check it out.

keep your ears out for Jesse Mann

Sometimes you need a little funk wrapped up in some old school disco and smothered in a Drum & Bass sauce. This is exactly what DJ Jesse Mann serves up everywhere he spins. You have to keep your eye out because hes all over the place. Sometimes he's at Bembe in Brooklyn and sometimes he's at APT in the meatpacking district. Go to his site, check out whats going on, and listen to some stuff. FREE STUFF! lol.

Get to it and make sure you're wearing comfy dancing shoes!

Star Trek was on another level!

J.J Abrams did such a good job on the new Star Trek that I almost went to watch it again this weekend...then I remembered that a movie ticket is 12 dollars. The movie was great because it could attract a lot of different people. Sci fi fans, action fans, star trek fans, and so on. The cast was full of Easter eggs too. We saw Winona Ryder play Spock's mom, we saw the original Spock come back as well. I don't want to give any of the story away, but I want to say that the writers really came through with something that was solid. It was so good that I find it impossible to not continue. There is most likely going to be a part 2 and if they keep the same writers it could be amazing. I highly recommend for you to go see this and if you can just sit there after the credits and wait for the movie to start again. Believe me.

Arlenis does German Vogue

Let's review Arlenis Sosa in German Vogue.
Powerful. Sleek. Iconic.
This is all photographed by Alexi Lubomirski and styled by Christiane Arp.
I think they did a great job and everything looks super clean. She still does not look as gritty as I'd like to see her (just for fun), but it works on many levels.
WERK!
