Parker does March 2009 Bazaar covers

I absolutely love this just leaked cover of Sarah Jessica on Bazaar magazine. It will run in March 2009. This is a great shot that not only captures the essence of Sex and the City, but with the Brooklyn Bridge as it's backdrop the image pays homage to NYC. Everyone knows that New York is the fifth girl in the Sex and the City story. This cover will only be available to subscribers. The other cover below with a pink background will be on newsstands everywhere.

For the fun of it I have also posted the new trailer for Sex and the City 2 movie. Enjoy.

Your blog sucks t-shirt

I think I have to get this, right? lol. This is something I will be rocking at your next party. Go get your own at Urban Outfitters online store.

NYC wants you to design their condoms

NYC gave away 41 million condoms last year in their crusade for safer sex. This year they want a face lift and they need your help to do it. They want someone to design a new packaging for the famous condoms that will run in limited addition. I think this is a great opportunity for graphic artists out there to advertise themselves. Imagine all the people that would look at your artwork! It is also for a great cause and you would probably be the first of a series of artist inspired limited edition NYC condoms.

Hurry up and draw something cute because the deadline is January 22nd, 2010. After that, judges will pick finalists and they will let the public decide which should win via an Internet vote. Click on the link below for the rules (what you can draw, where to send, guidelines, etc) and good luck! Also, let us know here if you post anything so we can root for you if you become an online finalist!

Happy Holidays!

Merry Xmas everyone!

I am in D.C with my boo and I am having such a surreal time. This time last year I was all alone in NYC, my parents had moved back to the Dominican Republic, and everyone seemed to be busy. It was a very sad holiday season for me, but also a wake up call. I needed to remember that being with the ones you love (and not only around the holidays) is the most important thing. This year I have been blessed with the best Xmas Karma EVER! I hope everyone reading this is enjoying time with friends or family. If not, make sure you call them and thank them for being in your life.

Thank you for coming on the blog and allowing me to share a part of myself with you. It means a lot to me.

:-)

Now go eat stuff all day until you cant stay awake anymore! lol

A Single Man is a visual treat

Thank you Tom ford for taking Christopher Isherwood's 1964 novel A Single Man and adapting it to film. This is Tom's debut film and I am not only impressed, but so interested that I have to go buy this book now. Ford's attention to detail and experience in the fashion world bring a very unique view to the telling of this story. This is a portrayal of a gay man in midlife. George, the protagonist, is adjusting to life on his own after the sudden death of his partner. The acting by Collin firth is top notch, but it is Julian Moore who steals the show for me. She uses her small time on the screen to her advantage and delivers some of the best lines in the film. This is a must see!

The new default: Cantina Latina

Sometimes you need a default place where you know you can always go and have some drinks, maybe shake your hips a little to some very good music, and have some snacks. I think I found it this last Friday at Cantina Latina. The spot is very colorful and vibrant, red colors abound the scene, and DJ Center spins funky beats and classic jams every Friday night. I am ready for some more Cantina. See you there!

The fabulous bride

Congratulations Caitlin! When my co-worker got married I knew that she was going to be a gorgeous bride, but I had no idea that it was going to be on some celebrity wedding status. I saw the pictures and I almost fell backwards. I don't think I have seen such a beautiful bride EVER! The hair, the amazing bouquet of flowers, and that incredibly form fitting dress where all part of the dazzle. My favorite picture is the one where the happy couple walks down the isle. It just looks so...FABULOUS!

Mario's closet

Sometimes you go to your closet and you just can't figure out what to wear. Well, the same thing happens to our favorite video game character Mario. AND he changes outfits a lot, so I'm sure it's hard.

Robin finally gives us SEX THERAPY

Robin Thicke's new album Sex Therapy is all you need for a night of action. Put this on and whoever you want to get down with will all of a sudden take off all their clothes and pull you really close. OK, maybe it won't be that easy, but at least musically, the vibe will be right. I am loving Robin finally taking his voice to the type of music that will showcase his smooth silky falsetto sound. This is what I have wanted from him and now he is giving it to you with a bunch of sex. lol. Make sure you download "Sex Therapy", "Make U Love Me", and my absolute favorite "It's in the Mornin'" featuring Snoop Dog.
PS> I just posted the picture below because I thought Jay Z had the funniest expression.

Rihanna gets Rated X for GQ

Scandalous! I did not even post all of the pics I found of Rihanna on this months GQ because they were a little graphic. Here is her attempt at promoting her new album Rated R. This photo shoot makes it seem like its more "Rated X", but you can see for yourself.

Enjoy.

The Museum of the city of New York deserves a visit

It's hard to believe that I have missed out on going to the museum of the city of New York for so long. I guess it's easy to overlook when there are so many other museums on 5th Avenues famous museum mile. Past the MET and the Guggenheim on 103rd Street stands this small museum that packs a definite punch. The current exhibition is a tribute to the very well known architect Eero Sarinen. Saarinen's body of work is not only incredible because of the technical aspect of the modernist style used, but also because each work has such a great story behind it. The TWA terminal at JFK, the Miller house, the American embassy in London, St.Louis famous arch, and so on are very well showcased at the museum. This exhibition ends January 31st, so please be quick to check it out.

Also, a little treasure is hidden on the second floor. Aside from a wonderful picture Gallery on New York, there is a small room with a 30 minute video called "Timescapes" that is part of the permanent collection. This truly wonderful spotlight on the history of NYC is narrated by Stanley Tucci and is so insightful that I immediately went to the museum shop and asked if they had it for sale. Sadly, it is only available to view at the museum.

Sade is a "Soldier of Love"

Sade has finally returned with a tune that is going to chill you out! I grew up on Sade and my dad would always play her when I was little. I was 7 years old and knew the words to "Smooth Operator"! Lol. This song has a strong military beat, hence the title, but it still manages to be mellow and not aggressive. I guess soldiers of love need to be more in tune with their wine rather than their guns. Do yourself a favor and go download this.

Goya wafers have me addicted

I am going to confess that last night I sat in front of the computer and ate a whole package of Goya Dulce de leche wafers. I was only going to have a few, but then the sugar rush took over my body and I would not stop until there was no more. After the crime, I decided NOT to look at the calorie information. What would be the point? The wafers had been eaten and there was no going back. What worries me now is that I am counting down to the time when I can go to the store and get more. I'm officially obsessed!

Broken Embraces (Los abrazos rotos) is a must see!

I can't stress this enough; you MUST see this film at some point this year. The cast is simply amazing. The way the story is developed and the way these actors take ownership of the emotions they have to portray is something you have to see to believe. I have to admit, if you speak Spanish you get more out of the movie. Subtitles are extremely distracting and I'm not so sure the movie experience would be the same if you had to read them the entire time. The movie is also beautifully shot. All of the scenes have great composition and are full of rich color.

Pedro Almodovar is no doubt Oscar bound.

Thandie Newton covers InStyle magazine

Thandie looks absolutely stunning on the cover of InStyle magazine. Look at that skin!

Comic book mugshots by Evan Shaner

Evan Shaner has had the great idea of making comic book mugshots. It's always great to see an artist draw classic characters, but with their own modern and fresh twist. Evan has a specific style and its very clean looking, also very colorful. Check some of his stuff out by clicking the link below.

Frontline brings you thought provoking journalism

As advertised on their own website, the show Frontline (Which is aired on PBS) really does bring thought provoking journalism on a very wide spectrum. Many different types of issues are discussed and they are thoroughly dissected for the viewer. Investigations on Jesus, credit card debt, the recession, the death of a woman in Tehran, and much more inundate the website with new information. I highly recommend this to any person with an inquisitive mind. I suggest you watch the eye opening credit card episode "The card game" and the recession discussion which is called "Close to home".

Fergie wears MarcoMarco

WOW, Fergie hits it right on the nail with this eye catching dress by MarcoMarco. This dress has an amazing amount of detail in it. Did you see the spikes on the shoulder? What do you think of her look? Fabulous or Fabu-less? lol.

Watch The lovely bones trailer

The trailer for the new Peter Jackson movie The lovely bones is out and I am incredibly impressed. The cast alone is something to brag about, with Susan Surandon, Rachel Weisz, Stanley Tucci, Mark Whalberg and Saoirse Ronan. This is a movie based on a novel that I keep hearing is very graphic and scary. This movie is one to watch at the Oscars as well.
