OYA dazzles the senses

Last night I finally got the opportunity to eat at OYA in Washington D.C. I was impressed with the decor and detailed touches. It's great when you go somewhere to eat, but can also find stimulation in the visual aesthetic of design. There seemed to be many different textures and colors to look at and the modern fireplace in dining room was very interesting. The food, from the appetizers to the desserts, were not only delicious, but very well thought out. The short rib appetizer was sort of a "wow" moment, as were the perfectly cooked tuna tempura rolls. The beef sirloin entree was perfectly cooked and was accompanied by fresh vegetables that were roasted to perfection. All of these dishes made me want to go back and try everything!

You must try the pineapple turnover cake with a side of vanilla bean ice cream. It was savory, the cake itself was light and airy, and the vanilla complimented the dish perfectly. A true orgasm in your mouth.

By the way, no hats or frumpy clothes here please. The hostess will let you know to take off your hat is she has to. These people have a certain look to uphold and rightfully so. Also, do not get intimidated by all the people drinking at the bar. This hot spot can become crowded with good looking people in the bar and lounge area that can get loud. I don't think this affected my meal at all, but some people like a more quiet type of place. Go before 8pm during the week if you want to avoid this type of scene.
